HOW TO LOSE POLITICAL LEGITIMACY
Picha sijui yanani kama yako niambie nikuandike
You would wonder why today i'm talking about politics and certainly some of you might think I'm into politics! To be clear I don't do politics in real life though my career started with the same field (Science of Politics) which is technically not the politics we live (My view). So much so, my interest in this post is mainly to highlight some issues that (in my view and other people's views if any) any Government MUST (if necessary) avoid Or face the consequences like CANADA,TUNISIA,EGYPT,LIBYA,YEMEN,SYRIA to mention a few. where political illegitimacy has (in one way or the other) appeared to the World.Hereunder (in a point form) are the few things that undermine political legitimacy of any Goverment:
1.Giving unfulfilled promises to citizens every now and then.
2.Assuming Citizens don't know of any embezzlement (If any) by Government leaders/officials.
3.Being corrupt
4.Unequal distribution of National wealth in a particular State or Nation.
5.Cutting benefits that affect Citizens i.e Health Service,Housing,Education etc
6.Using public office as a family business enterprise where the whole favour goes to the Family & Family friends.
7.Do not listen to citizens of any concern assuming the complaints are not basic
8.Making the constitution that favour the rulling system for example lifetime president (including those serving for a long time as if they are the only best leaders to cling on power as per their wish)
9.Rampant unemployment
10.Poor social services i.e Health,Education etc.

Details have emerged of huge casualty figures in the Libyan city of Benghazi, where troops have launched a brutal crackdown on protesters. So far More than 200 people are known to have died, doctors say, with 900 injured. Benghazi, the country's second city, has been a leading focus of protests against Col Muammar Gaddafi's rule.
The most bloody attacks were reported over the weekend, when a funeral procession is said to have come under machine-gun and heavy weapons fire. One doctor, said the fresh gunfire had broken out,and was "a real massacre".BBC was told.
Human Rights Watch says at least 173 people have been killed in Libya since demonstrations began on Wednesday.
Libya is one of several countries in the region to have seen pro-democracy campaigns since the fall of long-time Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in January. Egypt's Hosni Mubarak was forced from power on 11 February.

Uganda elections 2011-Museveni wins..

The Electoral Commission declares President Museveni victor of Uganda’s Friday presidential ballot, winning with 68.38 per cent of 8, 272, 760 total votes. Mr Museveni obtained 5, 428, 369 votes, Electoral Commission chairman, Eng. Badru Kiggundu says.
“The Commission declares Yoweri Kaguta Museveni President elect of the Republic of Uganda,” says Eng. Kiggundu while announcing the final results at Namboole stadium today.
The results, however, excludes tallies from 117 polling stations whose results the Commissions says it is yet to receive. Eng. Kiggundu says they declared the incomplete results to beat the 48 hour constitutional, and so far what they received is more than the threshold tallies to make the declarations.
Inter-Party Cooperation flag bearer, Dr Kizza Besigye, has obtained 2, 064, 963 (representing 26%) votes while Democratic Party’s Norbert Mao is in third position polling 147, 708 votes.
Mr Museveni’s win gives him another five year elective term, setting him on course to lead Uganda for a cumulative 30 years since 1986.

Mubarak’s Swiss assets frozen...(Vijisenti kapuni)
While Egyptians celebrate the departure of Mr Mubarak the president of Egypt who ruled the country for 30 years; The Swiss government has announced the freeze of all possible Mubarak’s assets after his departure late yesterday. The process includes any potential asset belonging to the then president and his associates. Apparently the Global Financial Integrity, a Washington group that tracks corruption in the developing world, estimates $57 Billion (vijisenti) illicit assets left Egypt between 2000 and 2008.
The freeze will prevent Mr. Mubarak access to the money until its proven the money were legally acquired and the source is succinctly clarified. Recent information says similar freeze is been applied to the Ex-President of Tunisia Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.

Blogger’s opinion: Developing countries leaders must know the responsibilities and honor that the citizens have bestowed in them. It’s no doubt they know accountability is a must for they were put in office by the so called people power. It’s therefore clear that, the same people who have the right and power to remove irresponsible leaders out of office.
In essence being in office as a representative of the people does not mean the time to represent the family, friends and yourself. But working diligently to represent fully the people in all aspects of life; I. e social, political, economical, technological and cultural aspects that could foster the national development in general.
NB: I wish constitutions had acts that allow electing leaders ‘IN’ and ‘OUT’ of office. This means irresponsible leaders, power mongers, puppets and corrupt leaders could have been voted out of office in an orderly, democratic and peaceful means. Easy!

Mubaraka aachia ngazi leo..
