2 doctoral studentships in Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London - Department of Psychology (UK)

Overview
Two doctoral studentships funded by the European Research Council (ERC) are available from September 2010 in the Department of Psychology, Goldsmiths, University of London. You can apply for either a 1+3-year (Masters and PhD) or a 3-year doctoral programme. You will work under the supervision of Dr Andy Bremner, as part of a research team funded by a 5-year ERC grant, ‘HEMSDEV: An Investigation of the Construction of Human Embodied Multisensory Experience in Infancy and Early Childhood', and will have access to, and training in, both behavioural and neurophysiological (ERP) methods.

Allowance

A stipend of £19,250 per annum will be provided. You will be expected to pay your own university fees (£3,500 per annum).


Qualifications


Applicants for a 1+3 studentship should have a good first degree (1st class, high 2:1, or equivalent) in Psychology or a closely allied discipline. Applicants for a 3-year doctorate will normally be expected to hold a Master's degree in an area related to Psychology. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong aptitude and motivation to work in a research team, undertaking both collaborative and individual research projects in a scientifically rigorous way. We are also looking for a candidate who will be able to work with infants, children and parents, present research at national and international scientific meetings, and submit research manuscripts for publication on a regular basis.
