The Embassy of Belgium in Dar es Salaam and BTC in collaboration with President’s
Office, Public Service Management, announce the availability of a limited number of
scholarships for Master studies in Tanzania for the new academic year 2009-2010.
Applicants must have the Tanzanian nationality and be no more than 40 years of age
on 1st May 2009, have a relevant Bachelor degree.
The requested course must be related to the professional activity of the applicant and he/she must have at least two years of relevant working experience.
The requested course must be in line with the priority sectors (Basic Health Care,
Education, HIV/AIDS Care and Prevention, Agriculture and Food Security, Public
Administration, Justice, Environment and Water Management) which foster the
realisation of the Tanzania Vision and MKUKUTA.
All applicants must be in the possession of an official admission letter prior to
submission of the scholarship request.
Both applications are open to people from public and private sector as well as civil
society. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants need to
have the written approval of their employer.
Standard application forms can be obtained from the President’s Office, Public
Service Management, Division of Human Resource Development PO Box 2483, Dar
es Salaam, Tel. 2118531-4/2122908, Fax. 2125299 or on www.estabs.go.tz or from
the Embassy of Belgium, 5, Ocean Road, Dar Es Salaam (email:
daressalaam@diplobel.be) or from the BTC office, 1271, Haile Selassie Road,
Oysterbay, Dar Es Salaam (email: daressalaam@diplobel.be).. Completed and
signed application forms have to be submitted with certified true copies of all
educational certificates.

The Dag Hammarskjöld Scholarship Fund for Journalists is now accepting applications from professional journalists from developing countries for its 2009 Fellowship Program. The application deadline is Friday, March 20, 2009.
The Fellowships are available to radio, television, print and web journalists, age 25 to 35, from developing countries who are interested in coming to New York to report on international affairs during the 64th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Fellowships will begin in mid-September and extend to late November and will include the cost of travel and accommodations in New York, as well as a per diem allowance.
The Fellowship Program is open to journalists who are native to one of the developing countries in Africa, Asia, South America and the Caribbean, and are currently working full-time for a bona fide media organization in a developing nation. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in and commitment to international affairs and to conveying a better understanding of the United Nations to their readers and audiences. They must also have approval from their media organizations to spend up to two months in New York to report from the United Nations. Denmark offers a number of full scholarships within studies of climate change.

Climate change is one of the major challenges that our world faces today.
In December 2009, Denmark will host the United Nations Climate Change Summit.
To emphasise the importance of sustainable climate solutions, the Danish government is now launching the ‘COP15 Climate Scholarship’ for highly qualified students. The scholarships, which cover both tuition fees and living expenses, are made available for a range of excellent two-years Master’s programmes, including MSc programmes in wind energy, environmental engineering or sustainable energy planning.
Background
In line with the overall aim of securing a climate friendly Climate Conference, the Danish Government has decided not to give any gifts or conference-kits for COP15 participants. The resources saved is instead used to create the ‘COP15 Climate Scholarship’, which gives a number of international students the opportunity to pursue a masters degree within climate change studies at a university in Denmark.
How to apply:
Applications are made directly to the university. When you apply for a masters programme, you should indicate your interest in applying for the COP15 Climate Scholarship. The following master programmes are available under the scholarship programme.
Please note the deadline at the beginning of March 2009.

Education opportunity!!
Make use of the resources availble, why keep quiet? keep on asking if you really need to... I would think that wise intellectuals and non intellectuals could easily share useful information with other people. It is of course not always the case but whoever asks them might get the information in need. Africa as a continent has rich intellectuals or pundits in different intelligences who are all over the world. Taking as an example Tanzania have so many people abroad. In my opinion these people can help giving tips of information.For example scholarships information etc. As such getting scholarship has for years been difficult and competitive. So people need to get informed of where, how and when there is scholarship anounced. This will at least give them chance to make applications on time.
It is of course no doubt financial problems affects many of them (us) but with the help of fellows who might have the right and timely information, these people might get educational opportunities through scholarships as much as they have comprehensive information on where and how to apply.Not only that, but also those who have access to internet is even easier, they can search from the internet to find out online scholarships where by applicants can download application forms, fill in and send back to the institution concerned.
It is sad when people lack funds and access to the right and timely information regarding places they can study through scholarship while some/few people enjoy this opportunity without sharing to any one who in one way or the other will never get those opportunities due to lack of information.Today i'm glad to give out one link where you can find what can be of you are interests for those scholarship hunters.
